Are your kids destined for stardom? Do they want to be taught by the best? The Musical Theatre Workshop is coming to Johannesburg from 21- 26 March!
MTW was established in 2010 to offer scholars, students and upcoming professionals a platform
that provides them with practical training in the field of musical theatre. We offer a safe,
professional theatre environment that is stimulating, educational and entertaining, where young
people can surround themselves with all things musical theatre.
The Musical Theatre Workshop is for everyone, even those who simply want something exciting to do during the holidays. It is an opportunity to meet other young people who share the same passion and interest in the world of the Arts.
Taking part in these workshops also has valuable by products in that it offers students the chance to build on their confidence, understand body language and further their communication skills, whilst at the same time becoming a little more expressive, perhaps even finding their true potential!
For those who are interested in embarking on a career in musical theatre, the MTW creates a
foundation to help them on their way, with up to date practical training in all facets of musical
theatre, including vocal training, repertoire, dance classes, acting, audition preparation, &
Together, Duane Alexander and Anton Luitingh have over 16 Professional productions under their belts, both as performers and as directors/choreographers: CATS, RENT, BEAUTY & THE BEAST, CHICAGO, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, JERSEY BOYS, most recently THE SOUND OF MUSIC and they are both currently on the International Tour of Pieter Toerien’s SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, showing at Montecasino Teatro until 13th March. Plans are in motion to run MTW in Durban, PE and then return workshops in New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong
At MTW you will get some professional up to date vocal coaching, dance training, and acting classes,
all with top industry people and to suit all levels of training. These 3 elements make up the key components of being a ‘Triple Threat’ performer, which is a much sought after commodity in the professional Musical Theatre industry. Our aim is to either introduce you to these disciplines, in a safe and fun way, or help you take the next step in your training and give you a better idea and understanding of what is required to ‘make it’ in this industry. Either way you’ll learn things about yourself and about your craft that will hopefully be invaluable on your road to reaching your dreams.
Your week at MTW will be filled with warm ups, engaging ice breaker games, classes, learning songs, harmonies, learning choreography, staging, character work, assembling it all together and at the end of the week, we encourage you to invite 2 guests to come take a peek at what we’ve been up to! Stimulating, inspiring, challenging and fun!

There is good news!
Zipp Health is there for you with a plan that will work and give you that boost you need to move forward and change the way you live.
Introducing Dr Gavin Zipp's rapid weight loss regime -
THE ZIPP PROTOCOL
What is the Zipp Protocol?
It is a diet that uses the hormone, HCG, or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG), injected to support the patient through a low calorie diet bringing incredible weight loss results in only a few weeks.
What is HCG?
First and foremost HCG is a natural hormone that is produced by pregnant women to aid in the successful break down of body fat in order to aid in the nutritional support of the baby. In a world where we are more and more concerned about the safety of the products we put into our body, what could be better than a natural hormone safe for unborn babies!
The hormone works by reducing your appetite, maintaining normal energy levels, and easing the normal symptoms of eating a low calorie diet such as headaches, and mood swings. The hormone does this by allowing your body to more efficiently process the fat stores already in your body. Taken in proper dosages this hormone will make not only weight loss easy, but fat loss as well! AND…you’ll keep it off.
How do I keep the weight off?
In conjunction with a 500 calorie a day limit, HCG will elicit rapid weight loss in those who supplement it in their daily diet. Eating 500 calories a day might seem like a difficult task, and for many it is, however one thing you can take to heart is that the 500 calorie portion (Stage 2) only lasts a few weeks. After that, daily caloric content is increased back to normal levels. It’s important to note, though, that these “normal calorie levels” are not what you were eating prior to beginning the HCG diet. If you find yourself wanting or needing to lose weight, then it goes without saying that your daily caloric intake was too high, causing you to store excess calories as fat. In order to keep the weight off after completing the HCG diet plan, it’s imperative that you move forward eating a healthy, balanced diet.
Does it really work?
Sarah Jackson had amazing results after trying the Zipp Protocol and had this to say -
“The Zipp Protocol has totally changed my life! I am so much more confident in my new slim, healthy body! Not only did The Zipp Protocol assist me in losing post pregnancy weight quickly but it has taught me how to live a normal, healthier lifestyle without putting the weight back on!"
So what are you waiting for? That dream body and lifestyle change you want and need is within reach with The Zipp Protocol.

Metro FM radio personality and Club DJ, Mo Flava, has given away 12 student bursaries through Boston Media House instead of the initial 10 bursaries indicated.
These 12 bursaries were allocated to students interested in studying Radio, TV, Music Production, and Graphic Design amongst other Media Studies related degrees.
Mo Flava’s bursary give aways have been running for the past 6 years now. This year, prospective candidate interviews were held at both the Boston Media House campuses in Sandton and Pretoria. Mo Flava personally conducted the interviews/auditions that run once a week over a 3 week period in January.
The bursaries were received by students from across the country. KwaZulu-Natal, Taung District in the North West, and Soweto form part of some of the areas from which the 12 recipients reside.
Mo Flava has made a remarkable difference in the lives of many students over the past few years through his bursary give-aways. It’s very encouraging to see the public support grow year on year to ensure that he is able to give back in a meaningful way towards education, which is an avenue that he fully supports and believes in.
Top comedy producers, Whacked Special Project, are thrilled to announce the big arena sequel to their 2013 hit show, “Bitches”.
“Bitches Be Back” promises to kick 2016 right in the testosterone, with a refreshed cast, new material and a spectacular venue.
Hosted by Anele Mdoda, with an incredible line-up including the very cream of local comedians, Tumi Morake, Celeste Ntuli, Noko Moswete, Nina Hastie and joined by explosive newcomer Thenjiwe Moseley and a special showstopper performance by DreamGirl Tracey-Lee Oliver – this magnificent collection of stand-up, sketch and singing will have you standing in your seat, celebrating the feminine spirit, body and mind. All while you laugh your head off.
“Stand-up comedy was always the domain of the male, until recently. Women have started to own stages all over the country, and this show is the first of its kind to hit an arena,” says creative director, Marita van Schalkwyk. What makes the show even more special is that Whacked has assembled a team of brilliant women to produce and promote the show.
“We are a largely female team, from the casting, PR, direction to performance – so when we say “bitches” we aren’t kidding,” says exec producer Taffia Keight.
“Sensitive people say that the term is derogatory – we feel that being a strong woman is not always a popular position but to make yourself heard in the world, sometimes you have to embrace the inner tiger rather than tame it.”
“Men are most welcome,” says headliner, Tumi Morake, “we don’t hate them, and we just agree that this time they should sit down and listen. Let us tell them what the person next to them is thinking, because they seem to be struggling to understand that. Bring your partner, guys, let us make you look good, while we look even better…”
“Bitches Be Back” 26, 27 February 2016. Big Top Arena, Carnival City. Booking at Computicket.
BODY WORLDS Vital is an all-new, unique exhibition celebrating the wonder, resilience and fragility of the human body. Visitors will get a detailed look at the human body and its keenly intelligent design, explore how it functions and see what happens when disease strikes. This internationally acclaimed exhibition opens at the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre in Newtown, Johannesburg on Tuesday, 1 March 2016. Tickets are available now at www.bodyworldsvital.co.za and Webtickets www.webticket.co.za.
This presentation is set to emulate the runaway success of the BODY WORLDS exhibition hosted by Sci-Bono in 2013. Tyrone Thöle, managing director of Great World Exhibitions, the leading promoter of international touring exhibitions in South Africa, commented: “After the previous success of BODY WORLDS, we have been inundated with requests to bring it back. For me, this entirely new exhibition is an authentic and unforgettable experience and I am convinced that it provides the most meaningful and memorable learning opportunity for everybody!”
The trailblazing, international BODY WORLDS series has been seen by more than 40 million people in more than 100 cities across the world.
Dr Angelina Whalley, Curator and Designer of the BODY WORLDS exhibitions said: “BODY WORLDS Vital celebrates the living human body in its optimal state – healthy, vibrant, vigorous and in motion. At the same time, it presents the leading health concerns of contemporary times, the causes of these conditions and diseases, and ways to prevent or manage them. It is our hope that visitors will recognize the potential of the human body, and will be inspired to live a life in good health and with vitality.”
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to explore human anatomy, physiology and health through around 180 authentic whole-body plastinates, individual organs and transparent body slices. A pair of figure skaters performing a skilful lift, a soccer player dribbling a ball and a chess player plotting his next move illustrate the body like never before. Healthy and diseased organs are shown alongside each other, while displays of the nervous and cardiovascular systems show the intricacies of our complex body. Specimens are permanently preserved through the process of plastination, invented by famed anatomist, Dr Gunther von Hagens.
Bodies on display have been willed by donors for plastination to increase public awareness of the human body. To date, more than 15,000 donors around the world have bequeathed their bodies to Dr von Hagens’ Institute for Plastination after death.
As a guideline, BODY WORLDS Vital is recommended for children aged 8+. Children should be accompanied by an adult. Parents are invited to download the comprehensive Family Guide from the www.bodyworldsvital.co.za website to complement their visit.
