The names themselves strikes fear into most batsmen- Shane Warne…Muttiah Muralitharan…Daniel Vittori …Anil Kumble…Imran Tahir…Moeen Ali, some of the world`s greatest proponents of spin bowling. … Spin bowlers are crafty technicians, delivering a ball that on the face of it looks fairly straightforward but completely does the opposite, resulting in a long head-scratching walk back to the pavilion.
Spin bowling is a mysterious art with a variety of actions like The Doosra, The Googly, The Flipper, The Off Break and The Slider among others. Call it what you will but the fact remains that spin bowling perplexes the majority of batsmen and volumes have been written on how to counter this potentially devastating style of bowling. South African cricketers, in particular have struggled against top class spinners, most notably on the spin friendly pitches of the subcontinent.
One cricketer that has excelled against spin is the 2016 ICC ODI and Test Cricketer of the Year, Quinton De Kock. Known as Quinny to his Proteas teammates, his passion and commitment to the game of cricket is unparalleled. Quinton has always believed in giving something back to his fans and fellow sportmen alike and has developed an exciting new concept to help aspiring cricketers, both amateur and professional, to help them cope with the complexities of spin.
Created and developed by Quinton, Spintechs is a unique, specially designed mat that automatically spins the ball for you, enhancing the bounce and the speed of the ball. This allows you, as a batsman or wicketkeeper, to experience all the angles that you would face in a competitive match. No need to hire heavy expensive equipment over and over again that is hard and complicated to assemble. Whether you’re young or old, an amateur, play professionally or for a club, Spintechs is an invaluable and innovative accessory that can help you become your team`s best batsman or wicketkeeper yet.

LCN recently sent me some goodies to try out and I was very excited to get to know their products.
The one that caught my eye immediately was the four shade bronzer which can be used on the face and the body consisting of a soft shimmering tanning powder for a sun kissed look.
The great part of this particular bronzer is that it can be used day and night as the shimmer is subtle when applied lightly but can be layered for a more dramatic effect. It looks fabulous on the décolletage too and I even used it on my arms and legs for a recent opening night I attended at the theatre. Day or night, Sun Goddess will make you feel just that!
It was almost as if LCN read my mind with the eyeshadow I got, as these tones are exactly what I enjoy using right now. The eyeshadow trio has multiple textures and brilliant colours which can be used in many different eye enhancing applications. The micro fine formulation enables an easy application and the melting texture lives up to its name 'long wear' and lasts all day long. The Wild Berries palette is a winner for Winter or Summer.
Every girl loves lipgloss and we can never have too many options floating around in our handbags. The LCN Nude Caramel lipgloss is so subtle and light that it simply enhances the features without making them pop too much and I would imagine would suit women of all skin tones and lip tones. The LCN gloss pairs brilliantly with a smokey, dramatic eye or even a more plain day look. I also tried it over a colour to mute it slightly and give it some shine and it worked beautifully.
The last two products took me completely by surprise and I am besotted! I have never been big on foot creams, only really experiencing them during my fortnightly pedicure at my salon, but I think I will always keep a tube handy now. I was given the LCN Urea 10% Summer foot cream which I did sample but as we are still coming out of winter my feet are in quite good knick right now. Once the open shoes come in, I'm pretty sure the results will speak for themselves as the cream was easily absorbent and made my feet feel soft and conditioned and the scent is just dreamy.
Enter the LCN warming foot cream...how did I survive without this in my life?
I had never heard of a cream that warmed the feet until LCN sent it to me and all I can say is wow! I spend a lot of time on my feet and this past weekend was up and about as an MC for a charity I am the ambassador for. On my return home, I thought I'd give the product a bash and it was amazing how it soothed and pampered my tired feet. The chills extract really went to work to get the good flowing again whilst the other ingredients made them feel revitalized and silky soft.
Thanks LCN for brightening up my season with these awesome products.

"This is Sam. We all love Sam. Sam LOVES to swim and it is her dream to go and swim the Straits of Gibraltar."
A Women’s Day brunch for King Edward Preparatory School this past weekend brought three old friends together in a room full of strong women and inspiration. A chat and a catch up about what we all had been up to, revealed, that a certain Samantha Cowen, who has discovered a love for open water swimming, has a secret desire to swim the Straits Of Gibraltar - but with it costing a pretty packet, seemingly unlikely.
Enter Dionne and Helen who suggested a crowd funding campaign to get her there. “But”, Sam said, “those are only for charities or other peoples wishes and dreams”. She is right and that is why we are doing this, in solidarity for her! Women help women! It is Women's Month and Dionne Domyan-Mudie of The Publicity Workshop and singer, actress and radio presenter, Helen Desbois decided to put their heads together and get the word out to see how many people would come aboard and help us get Sam to Gibraltar.
As many of you know, swimming is Sam's life and she would love to tick this off her list.
She has come so far and touched so many people...let's get her there and make her dream come true!"
